    Default double meaning

i sat next to a skater kid and he said 'what are you listening to?'

    so i replied 'hardcore'

    'oh really? what song'

'im not sure, its a happy hardcore mix'

*he look momentarily confused by 'mix'* 'oh, what bands play happy hardcore'

then i realized there are 2 hardcores, and both are complete opposites...

LOL, not sure what I can really discuss about it though because I listened to hardcore before even getting involved with hardcore. Now that I'm older though I much prefer hardcore over hardcore, but neither really get me going much any more.

    There are two hardcore's.

One has guitars, the other has DJ's.

Although I would say they aren't necessarily opposites as Darkcore/ deathchant hardcore is definitely a kindred spirit of hardcore with guitars.

Sum total of this discussion as far as I can see.

I know its not completely on topic, but just so I can gain more insight to the universe, what is the difference between hardcore and hardstyle?

Hardstyle, correct me if I'm wrong, always had more hard trance-y/ hardhouse type things going on. the beat was slightly different to hardcore which backs to its basics was like oldskool house but speeded up which gave rise to early drum and bass.
The word/ badge Hardcore got adopted, slightly like techno did, to mean a few things so it's hard to pin point when people talk about hardcore.
