what should i get. I'd prefer a smaller speaker than a huge so i can use it in my room and on the go. MY price range is small and it ends aroung $150 bucks.

Speakers for what? Just for your personal use or do you want to play out with it mobile DJ style...if so, $150 isn't getting it done.
A little bit of gold and a pager.
only for personal use.
I still recommend the JBL Control 1 Pro speakers. 150 Watts and they genuinely do 80Hz up to 20KHz like they say on the box. Astonishing sound out of a tiny "bookshelf" speaker.

I don't believe that those are powered, so would need an amp for them.

Studiophile AV 40 are powered desktop speakers that would give you a nice sound at around 150$ ... for a lil more i reccomend the Cakewalk MA-15D.

Well you didn't say. A class T amplifier will give you amazing reproduction for those speakers:

Or for a little more cash:

Regardless, try to get a "power amplifier" rather than a "AV" amp or some black box from your local tronics store.
The Cp2's are powered. but not at $150... just a bit more

Dancing to good music should be like having sex with the air.
