the x1 will fit with laptop and s4 no prob... with headphones, and cables. there's the two side pockets - they're the best place for the cables imo, and have a mesh divider in them to keep stuff separated.

it might be ok for light transportation, but I personally wouldn't consider it at all ...
yes, for light transport is what it's intended for. i never really have to carry it for very long anyway. if it travels far, it's in a car, or it's carry-on luggage.

I was also thinking about the decksaver and I think that's the ultimate combo for this bag, but might take up the rest of the space so forget putting more fat controllers in there :S

Who cares if you are only using s4!
Good to know! well i ended up buying the novation 25 bag along with a decksaver after seeing yeahdef's review he posted on the NI forums. looks to fit very very nicely together inside the bag! should be here by the end of the week

I really like that novation bag, not so struck on it's Colour but it seems a very good bag.
I'll either get that or the magma 25 bag.

Colour is more than cool with me, though I'm not too sure about what I can fit inside.

damn, i had to apply a lot of imagination to guess the kind of animal this is

love the shape of the legs. like they are stripped off two broilers and attached with nails to perform endless loops

I've decided to take a creative approach to this. I have asked a company I know well to see if they can come up with a bag for me. This is what I asked them:

As for the bag, this is the absolute base criteria:

    Must Fit:
    · Digital DJ Controller and ideally comes with a padded sleeve for the controller.

o The largest controller we need to accommodate is:

    § Depth: 32.2cm / 12.7"

    § Height: 5.2cm / 2"

    § Width: 50cm / 19.7"

    Plus:
    · A 17” Inch laptop in a padded/protected compartment.

    · Laptop power cable/brick

    · Set of Headphones

    · 1-2 External USB Hard drives (like the standard Western Digital ones)

    · Various cables

    · It does not need to roll

    · It should be able to be worn as a back pack with an option to use it just over one shoulder.

    · It has to fit with the standard specs for overhead compartments on flights

    · It should be able to stand some abuse

I am sure there are plenty of other requirements but if they can come up with something for a reasonable price I will let you guys know.

The cool thing is - if I order quantity - they will put a customized logo on it - would be cool to have something designed by this group....
