Default Help Troubleshooting VCI 100 Buzz

    Hi all,

So recently I DJ'd a few gigs with my VCI-100 + Audio 2 DJ + Traktor + Dell XPS M1330 + JBL Eon G2s, and during the gigs (and a few times during practice sessions) my system stops playing music and begins playing this terribly embarrassing buzzing sound that is very loud and persists until I turn of the VCI 100, then it goes away and the music continues playing.

When I turn the VCI 100 back on, nothing extra-ordinary happens and I continue DJ'ing as normal, but these events have been quite embarrassing lately and if anyone has experienced similar problems and could help, that would be excellent!

    Thanks

What's your latency set at? Turn off wifi and bluetooth, those are big culprits with problems on PC's. Game Booster is also a popular program to run that will shut down unnecessary programs and services.

It's a known issue with MIDI out and the VCI with Windows. Either turn off your MIDI out (and lose your LEDs), or one of the members here has an app that uses Bomes to route the MIDI. Or you could route it through Bomes yourself.

Wifi and Bluetooth are always turned off while I'm DJing, and my latency is set at 5.5ms.

I'll try downloading the program that you guys recommended when I get home and I'll tell you if that worked, but I'm not sure i'll be able to tell unless i can go 5 or so hours without it stopping...

    Thanks for the quick reply,
    Mogal

OK, so I downloaded the program to route the VCI through MIDIyoke, and I'll get back to you if it (cross my fingers) works!

    Thanks for the help though!

EDIT: Hmm, very odd..its causing the VCI to emit a different sound for each button i.e. when i press the play button it plays a note, when i press hte jog wheels it will play a piano sound...as if its taking it as an actual MIDI keyboard...

His solution was to mute the midi in sound and audio options.
