    Default New laptop time

The cat managed to knock a pint glass of water over my laptop and I think it's fooked ...

Suggestions for a replacement, costing ish ~£500 (note : I'm not interested in a MBP, as I don't have the cash, and am used to Windows with no desire to change)

The last two machines have been Lenovo's which have served me pretty well.

    Suggestion?

What works well for people on here?

You said you didn't have the money for nor want a Mac so it's gonna be dead. There's a thread on the NI site talking about which windows laptops work best with S4 so that may be worth a look.

If you're not too worried about having a new one, one of my best mates lives in Bristol and his flat mate sells reconditioned laptops for a living. I could PM you his details and you could at least see what he has as it may mean you get more for your money?

    Hi mate

I just purchased a Packard bell NM86 after a friend let me down with a mac.

The nm86 voted as best under £500, fast as f**k.

check it out. also only 14" sreen and light, good for mobile dj's

It's not the gear. It's how you use it.

    is the screen large enough?

My last machine (lenovo 3000 N500) had a 15.6" screen, and I'm concerned about going smaller if it impacts useability.
