Default So what program do you use to edit your mix?

i use traktors built in program to record my mix. however i would like to burn this mix to a cd, and also be able to choose tracks 2,3,4,5, and so on. I do not want to listen to 1 track for 60 minutes...rather have each song have its on track number...

which program do you find the easiest to do this with?

cool edit was one i used to use years ago...i am sure there is somethign better now..

would be a plus if its free!!

LOL... I still use Cool Edit!

If you want to update Cool Edit, it turned into Adobe Audition.

Meanwhile, Audacity is a great program that's free.

Sony Sound Forge 8. A great, pro-level post-production app. I stayed away from v9 because I've read about a lot of compatibility issues, especially with VST plugins. If you're a Mac user, Bias Peak is supposed to be the thang.

Sound Forge comes with CD Architect, which lets you track mark and burn CDs to Red Book standards.

I would recommend Sound Forge as well. It also has some great tools for extracting loops out of a song, and it will record any damn thing you throw at it. For example; I like to play a DVD on my computer and use Sound Forge to directly sample the audio.

Look for a used copy of version 8, it still comes with CD Architect.

    I use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). It's free, open-source, and cross-platform.

wave burner in logic studio will do red book - yeah its far from free but it is so much cheaper than it used to be and with every release it seems a bit more usable (really gotta take a class on logic one of these days).

I just cut up my tracks in Audacity, tag them and burn em in Nero or Creative Suite. :-)

For a free, open-source application, Audacity is terrific. As a pro-level audio manipulating tool, I wouldn't recommend it.
