Thanks everyone. I would love to shell out a grand on the S4, but that's hard for me to come to since I am completely new, lol.

It's looking like the VCI-100SE... people here seem to love it.
DJF.com seems to love the Rmx quite a bit.

    tl;dr thread.

If it were me and I wanted to go Traktor, I'd either get an S4 or a VCI-100mk2. The S4 is supposedly awesome, though I don't like it's layout.

The VCI-100mk2 has an awesome layout…it probably does the same thing that the VCM-600 does when switching "pages" to get to the other 2 decks…which actually works pretty well on the VCM. And it has 2 effects sections and an audio interface that probably doesn't suck.

If it's within budget and I'm looking for an all-in-one unit to control Traktor…I'd probably go for that.

SE. more rugged contruction for one thing, DJTT mapping and support for another.

Also, I've heard the mkII built in sound card isn't that great so you might end up wanting a different one, costing you more.

I'd really consider the S4 though, it's the best DJ in a box kit there is going!

I am drooling over the S4, but I can't do that to the bank account. Mom would flip.

Maybe try to explain it to her, tell her you'll pay off a bit of it at a time. Show her some videos!

I did that to my Dad lol, I work, but didn't have access to the cash at the time (I'm still paying him off) and he has known music has always been a part of my life. He had no problem after I sat down and talked to him about it. I went from borrowing $250 for a Vestax DJay Spin (from the apple store) to the Traktor Kontrol S4 $799 ($1000 is what I paid out the door - including tax and 3 years extended warranty. $799 is not a typo, I used the 10% off coupon for GC - well it should be like $830 in reality, but w/e).

    3) KONTROL S4 = 899.99

I'm thinking in that order. Anybody got anything else to add before I kinda wrap things up in my head?

Every little bit of information helps! Thx!

You should be able to get that combo cheaper than that, TSP is at half price atm.
