    Default Dj friendly sing along?

    Hey guys,

I'm playing a gig this weekend at the pub I work at. The only problem is, it's for a function for a number of nurses/doctors for a local hospital and the only thing they can tell me is that they're an older crowd and want stuff that they can sing along to. Anyone have any ideas of dj friendly tracks to throw at them? It's a three hour gig so I was thinking of starting with chilled house before moving into the better known tracks, I was thinking a bit of disco, Bowie, Prince that sort of thing.

how about the scrubs theme song
I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

VH1 TOp charts of the 80's 90's and 70's are a good source of knowledge
Music is communication, as any other form of creation.

Violent Femmes make good sing-a-long songs.

Sounds like they want a party DJ I'm Looking this from a UK mobile perspective, but guessing party tunes aren't that different over there.

As they're abit older the 80s classics should go down well as will 70's disco.

Barry White 'My first my last'. 'Blame it on the boogie' 'boogie wonderland'. 'Young hearts run free'. Chic and Sister sledge. YMCA, is one I save, for later. 'Disco Infreno' and 'Staying Alive' or 'Night Fever'

Don't forget the dreaded Abba and 'Love shack'. Proclaimers '500 miles'.

If your playing Guns and Roses, sling in 'Livin' on a prayer'. Journey is very popular for sing along, save these till they ready. With a 12 o'clock finish, I'd be doing a little rock set about 11. Black crows 'Hard to handle' goes well with 'Walk this way'. 'Summer of 69'. 'Sweet Home Alabama', Steelers Wheel 'Stuck in the Middle'

'Sex on fire' is always popular along with 'Mr Brightside' Sling in 'Chelsea Dagger' too. Then theres bits like 'A-punk' and sliding into the Jam and a bit of Madness.

Always popular is Motown(esque) stuff. Foundations 'Build me up Buttercup', Phill Colins 'Can't Hurry love', Four Tops 'I can't help myself' Supremes 'baby Love', Amy Winehouse 'Valerie', Duffy 'Mercy', Ce-lo 'forget you'. Plan B 'She said' and Billy Ocean ' Love really hurts without you', Aretha 'Respect'.

As stated 'tainted Love', along with Human League 'Don't you want me'. Then there's the Communards 'Don't leave me this way'. Cyndi Lauper 'Girls Just wann have fun' and 'venus' by Banannarama. Kenny Loggins 'footloose' Kylie!

'Rock DJ', Scissor Sisters 'I don' feel Like Dancing'. BEP 'I gotta feeling'.

    Don't forget Michael Jackson!
