    as clearly stated on the
"Introducing the Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ System" video

"the S4 contains everything that all modern dj's of all genres need to spin,
ALL IN A COMPLETE PACKAGE WITH NO SET UP HASSLE"
    and later
    "JUST PLUG IN AND PERFORM"

    YEAH RIGHT

why should people have to go trough all them processes
(and most people have much higher required spec systems than what is said to be needed to run the S4)

basically disabling most of there laptop/PCs drivers/software/features etc.
just to MAYBE make the S4 software work is NOT GOOD ENOUGH...

the problem is with the S4 software/drivers...
whether or not its due to the audio sound card in the S4 or clashing with graphics cards or what ever them tips suggest.

    ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH

granted them tips will help some, but why bother.
when NI should simply release an update.

it's completely stupid that NI released the S4 with so many bugs in the windows software.
(most of which are minor and easily fixed, but many are not)

if you state the S4 is compatible with windows then make it work with windows...

    JUST FIX THE PROBLEM NI

(not a rant just common sense)

I know it sucks - but BUGS and BUG FIXES are 'standard' in the first months of releasing new hardware and software. It's not an excuse; that's just how it works. It's a risk you take buying a brand new product upon it's release.

If you thought it would be different this time, think again. And remember that for next time, too.

(thought i'd toss in my two cents; I'm just surprised peeps are surprised...)

C'mon, guys. Tuning your PC is an absolute MUST for audio production and performance. Plug and Play is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. You HAVE to maximise the performance of the computer/laptop you are using.

That is why, if you do not have a dedicated machine, you should have multiple partitions. 1 that is maximised/optimised for performance, and 1 that you use for general internet, office apps, etc...

If you don't take this (DJ'ing) seriously enough to learn about PC optimisation, you'll always have performance issues.

Great post, Karlos - this type of thing should be one of the first elements that a noob picks up!
    DJ'ing: 2x1200MK2, DJM 850, Dicers, F1, Zomo MC-1000, Sony MDR-v700, i7 Win 10 HP Envy
Production: Ableton Live 8 and a mouse, Sennheiser HD400, Sony VAIO

Sorry, but NI should not have marketed this package as "no hassle" and "plug and play" since that's obviously not the case. Those were some of NI's biggest marketing points, and they were largely false. This isn't directed at u personally Karlos, I understand that u aren't our personal NI rep. And I'm still keeping my S4 and am going to try to make it work. But that doesn't change the fact that its very, very frustrating in the meantime.

    my point is,
if they state there product works right out of the box then it should at least work like they say it does...
IF IT DONT, ITS FALSE ADVERTISING (which is illegal)

but on a side note, of course i have dedicated systems to run djing and tweeked

*the problem aint with the PCs, its with the S4 software*

*thats the other point i was making*

luckily for me, i dont need to depend on the S4, as i have many other systems to use.
and i expected there to be some bugs with it been a new proDuct etc

but i aint looking for who/what/where/when/why
***im looking for a FIX a simple FIX. thats all...***

NI need to take there finger out and sort it out...

ps. karlos i always enjoy your helpfull posts,
and i know you aint a Rep.
if you think my post is personaly directed at you and have somehow taking offence, for that im sorry.

    keep up the good work.
