    Default 1 Controller. 2 Computers???

Anyone know of a USB splitter that will allow me to use 1 controller (Launchpad) with 2 laptops at the same time?

Surely there's got to be one out there? Is there any reason I couldn't make one?

    Nah.

You could use Bomes to redirect MIDI commands over a network for the second laptop or something.

    Looks like this'll do it:

Can anyone think of a reason that this won't work? It'll mean some clever routing on each laptop, but it should work, right?

I don't think this will work, as it only lets one computer use the device at a time, It detects if a computer needs to send some data to the device, then connects it, leaving the other computer unconnected.

If you have a mac, I know you can use MIDI Patchbay to copy all midi commands to a network interface, and send it to the other laptop.

Okay - I don't have a Mac, so it looks like if I'm gonna do this, it'll be going down the networking route.

How the hell do I network 2 laptops? Is it as simple as connecting them with a network cable - what additional software do I need?

    Is it viable?

i have done this by accident. when we were trying to get sorted for our t squared project, we link the midi out of my xone 1d to matts xone 1d's midi in, which meant i controlled his traktor by default, aswell as my own at the same time...
