Default MacBook Pro - Mini Display Question

    Greetings.

I have a 15" June 2010 MBP, and there is a apple mini display port for video out on the side. I would like to have video coming from the laptop, to go into my tv set via S-Video, Component, or RBG...anything analog. Is the MBP capable of doing so? I've been on the apple store and don't see anything available for that type of connection. Would it be possible to string together a Minidisplay>VGA to a VGA>S-Video or component connection? ...any information/combinations of adapters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i heard the apple tv can let you stream shit over wireless and thats like 100 bucks, but idk how i feel about that.

edit: i didnt read your entire question. you may need a router of some sort. what kinda tv do you have?

Thanks! Now, I have an older projection TV with no VGA, would it be possible to use the cable you linked me to, paired up with a VGA > S- Video cable? Would that still be considered analog?

nah man, i think you might be shit outta luck. i dont know of any connections like that, the only thing i can think of with VGA and s-video would be a PC tower ( i had an old HP that had both) but idk how you could get that to run through. might be worth it to invest in a monitor or a new tv depending on what youre trying to use it for.

I would be taking that adapter and hooking it into this:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/S-Video-RCA-Adapter-Matrox-Video/dp/B002CZ8YOU"]Amazon.com: VGA to S-Video/RCA Adapter for Matrox Video Cards: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31M4LS8ppyL.@@AMEPARAM@@31M4LS8ppyL[/ame]

Doesn't have to be THAT cable, but similar...you get the gist.
It says that this cable will not add TV out functionality to your pc (mac in my case) if it does not support it, but I guess I'm wondering if the MBP is capable of putting out an analog signal?

Thanks for the help. Need to get a new TV asap it's looking like.
