    Default Who to trust?

Bpm display on cdj or mixer? Often theses are out on mine (djm400 vs cdj1000 mk1) and more than often the bpm on my cdj is jumping around like no body's business..
for those who have them, how are yours with accuracy and reliability?

I knew some jerky would say this. Yes, as do mine, but it's not the question, and more pertinently it's not the point

My cdj's are quicker to determine BPM than my mixer most of the time.

    assuming it gets it right.

if youre looking for a perfect 100% accurate bpm counter all the time

    well....

    there isnt one =/

wish there was though. i hate relying on something only to have to adjust on the fly because i know it effed up bigtime.

    i feel you.

Im usally the guy that calls out the a-holes for being smart asses here at DJTT. just search my name ull see what i mean.

Honestly bro, hes right though. and unless ur using abelton, traktor or serento you need to learn to beatmatch by ear and not depend on BPM counters its a complete waste of your time. None of them are acurat. the ones on the pioneers mixers are just hideous.

U could always use a stop watch and count the beats for 15 second and then multiply that by 4 to get the real bpm, thats what the old guard used to do back in the day.

i wasnt trying to be an asshole, but if i saw a cdj's bpm rate jumping up and down erraticly there would be no way id trust it. if it was close --or exact -- on both (ive never been in a situation with both at the same time) i see no harm in using it as a general, but not as an absolute.
