Most DAWs default project BPM is set at 120... most of the popular sound libraries (loops) are also at 120bpm, so it's not a surprise to see that House, Techno, and others are the same.
I tend to stay around 120bpm (deep house)...somehow my creativity hovers around that speed, so it's just convenient that my DAW defaults to it when I start a new project.

For each of the genres below, I used my collection to compute the fraction of the music within that genre which is within 2% of 120 BPM (i.e., has a tempo between 117.6 - 122.4 BPM).
So, for example, I have 105 Deep House tracks with tempo within 2% of 120 BPM. My collection contains a total of 299 Deep House tracks, so the percentage for deep house is 105/299 = 35%
Acid: 9%
Deep House: 35%
Disco: 25%
Electro: 18%
House: 24%
Indie Dance/Nu Disco: 31%
Leftfield: 15%
Minimal: 13%
Synth-pop: 16% (small sample, it's 7 out of 45)
Tech House: 15%
Techno: 11%
I have some other genres (e.g., Downtempo, DnB) which I didn't even list since these obviously hardly ever use a tempo ~120 BPM.
