Experiencing an issue with my Kontrol F1. To put it in simple words i'm mapping the 16 pads of the f1 to different effect combo's(Instant Press FX) similar to how most of the Midi Fighter Mappings are. Consider these two scenario's as examples on how my mapping is :

Scenario 1 - Pad 1 turns on(Hold) fx unit 4, selects single fx mode, selects Ramp Delay, adjusts the 3 knobs to different values & turns on button 3(Direct).

Scenario 2 - Pad 2 turns on(Toggle) fx unit 4, selects single fx mode, selects Delay, adjusts the 3 knobs to different values & turns on button 2(Toggle).

Somehow i'm unable to get this thing to run smoothly. What happens is when I hit Pad 1 for the first time it just loads up the effect setting to its right place & doesn't turn on(It actually turns on for a millisecond & goes off, As i can see it in the screen). It works fine when I hit it the 2nd time. Same Goes with Pad 2, first hit, it loads the settings to its right place, turns on for a second & goes off. When i follow this by a 2nd consecutive hit it works fine as its supposed to do. All hits after the second one works fine, provided the same effect is loaded. The moment i load some other effect manually or by pressing some other effect combo, it again takes 2 hits to get it working smooth.

This is annoying in a live scenario. Any takes ?

Yup, add the "Store Preset" command to your buttons - can be found in the FX tab.

Thanks Stewe. However this is not 100% effective for scenario 2. When the FX unit 4 setting is in single mode it works fine but if the unit is in group mode it takes 2 hits(As per my Previous post) to fully function.

Its working perfect for scenario 1 though. The only difference between both are that the "FX UNIT 4 ON" Button in scenario 1 is mapped to work in "Hold" mode. Scenario 2 is meant to work in "Toggle" Mode.

This should work fine. Did you test your toggle button without modifiers? Currently it sounds that "FX unit" modifier is assigned to single as a value.

Haven't used any modifiers mate. Here's a screenshot of the mapping for that particular pad. You can see all the commands there

Could it be that pad is set 'toggle' in the controller editor?

Must say that my knowledge of NI controllers is pretty limited since I don't have any of them - you should definitely try out other button options and see what happens. The mapping looks fine btw.

Such a bummer.. There are only 2 options for CC Messages. Gate & Toggle.. However you think changing the pad type to "Note" will be any different ?

That's a rhetorical question. If I had an F1 you'd probably get a proper response from me.

Since your mapping looks correct let's hope this isn't a hardware glitch - however you can try other controllers or even a keyboard device to be sure.
