Hey guys..my first post here. Hopefully it will help someone out there.
For anyone who has a DN-X600 or other mixers with internal soundcard, you may find the teeniest-tinniest delay on the crossfader cut. I find this is most apparent on the Coolly scratch. It seems to shave of the leading edge of the cut (I might stick up a video, it's easier to just show it )
The way you solve this is a bit fiddly, but once it's done, you're set. You will need our friend 'gater'. Pop it in, in a single effect unit. Have it as the primary unit for each deck (like when you're setting up an internal post-fader echo effect).
Make sure you have a button assigned to turn off the effects unit. It will always be active once you turn on the unit.
The most important parameter is the second one. You must have your orange mute box set to on. Assign the effect on for this effect unit to your crossfader. To start with, it will insist on muting the track when the fader is away from the edge (so for hamsters scratchers, you might want to leave that as is.) For regular scratchers, you will need to make an exact duplicate of the mapping you just made, but set it to 'invert'.
The last step is to map dry/wet volume to the crossfader as well. Set it to invert. When the fader gets to the furthest edge, it will be muted again by gater, but with the dry/wet all the way down at this end, it won't mute the sound.
Do the same for the other deck (but don't invert the dry/wet) and you should be good to go. No more delay!
Basically it turns the fader into midi rather than audio, so it gets quicker.
