Why is it that some of my dubstep tracks are set as 70 BPM and others 140BPM? Is this an error?

It's because you haven't narrowed down the BPM detection range.
make the range 120 - 160 and you should be fine.
or go to the tracks listed as 70, go to grid and click x2
it's easy to change mid set anyway just press the divide or times button in the cue option to change it to desired bpm

it's just how some tracks appear to the detection, both bpms could be considered 'technically' correct. but 140 is the standard.
saying that, of the few dubstep tracks in my collection some are gridded at 70 on purpose so if they get used they pitch up and sound more like grime than dubstep...
If you listen to the actual drum beat in dubstep you'll quite often find that it's at 70bpm, but the bassline runs at 140. It's one of the defining characteristics of dubstep that differentiates it from other more breakbeat based genres.
But yeh, not an error, just change your analysis parameters for new tracks and click the x2 button in the grid panel for existing ones.
