Default Adding a sub to my live sound gear, help?

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here. I currently run a fairly cheap/basic sound set up for my live performances. It consists of 4, 12" main passive speakers that run off a phonic powered mixer that gives out something like 200W. It provides decent sound at house parties, and I sometimes rig up a logitech computer speaker sub (i know poor..) to the mix for some low end as well. Thing is I would like to add a better more powerful self powered sub into the mix since I am able to play at one bar, but I need to bring my own sound gear. Is there any subs in the 200-300 dollar range people can recommend? Or perhaps websites that are good for live sound gear? Thank you

basically you take concrete column molds and use it to amplify the sound of a 12, or 15 inch sub

The bass cannon is not far from the recommendation I will make...and that is to DIY some horn loaded subs. There is little to recommend from the commercial offerings in your price range.

The general rule of thumb is for the subs to be 2x the physical size of the tops (and that is for Top 40...for EDM the recommendation is 4x the size).

Checkout the Titan 39 on this DIY site. If you are DIY capable, you will not be disappointed by any of the designs here.

For reference, I have built ten DR200's and ten Titan 39's. The system is sized for a 25,000 sqft ballroom. I have also built one Titan 48 for a friend.
