    Default So MUCH LPD8 Trouble

i have two LPD8s that i just bought from GC for $29 each
but...... i cant get the software to recognize the second lpd8, only one at a time.
I'm trying to use the MF Deckalized mapping and have changed all the notes on the LPD8s to reflect that of the MidiFighter.

anyone else have trouble with multiple LPD8s??

This would help if you could specify which software you refer to

I use a Pair in S4, a pair in TSP... no problem there.

    oh haha right. oops.
im using the latest version of Traktor Pro.
Ive been tinkering with it for about 5 hours in a row now lol ridiculous.

anyway, so im using the Deckalized FocusDeck Mapping and mapped the pads to reflect that of the MidiFighter.

So what ended up happening is that Row 1 is mapped to Row 2, and Row 3 does Row 4 stuff. dunno how it happened but no matter how i try to remap, the buttons stay mapped the same...

Asand, have you selected the appropriate In-Ports and Out-Ports in the Controller Manager?

Did you change the MIDI messages, the 2nd LPD8 sends with that LPD-editor-tool?

I had this same problem. You have to change the Ins/Outs in the mapping. The problem is that Traktor has a hard time figuring out which one is which. For me my left side LPD8 is recognized all the time but for the right one I need to open up the mapping and choose the in/out to be the second LPD8 in the list. You could also change them Global. If you do this make sure to change which channel there sending messages on as you don't want them to interfere with each other and/or any other peice of gear you have hooked up.

Very important, your both controller sends the same Midi on the same MidiCHANNEL

So download this LPD8 Editor => MAC/ Windows
    How to use LPD8 Editor

    read something about MidiChannels,
if you wanna use the LPD8's as Midifighter, it should both be on Channel 3.

    Code:
    C3 C#3 D3 D#3
    G#2 A2 A#2 B2
    E2 F2 F#2 G2
    C2 C#2 D2 D#2
but they never will work properly... !!! Buy a Midifighter.

If not, you will need these config-files for the LPD8 Editor, to set up your Akai's like the Midifighter

    here's the deal => LPD8 Editor sucks

not (just) cause you can't make work Led Out work properly, Attack/Release Time etc...

If you say in LPD8 Editor PADxy => C3 then its not C3 its C2

    i love these developers
and don't wait for an update, it will never release

    yea this really sucks...

i was using the Akai Editor to put both LPD8s on the same midi channel 3, with the notes as if it was a MidiFighter.

1st problem- the notes being sent were one octave higher than i programmed.
EX: C#2 is actually registered as C#3

2nd problem- I have to have the LPD8s plugged in in the right order or else it wont recognize both; they ended up in some sort of Master/Slave mode..

    - So I'll never get them to work on the same channel?
That sucks.... I was so excited bc i got them New for $29... now I know why.
ugh... i want to have 16 knobs and 16 pads.
back to the Launchpad then I guess..
