Default Should I keep my Technics?

So right now I've got two technics 1200s, and I love them. I love how it feels to play on them. But the fact is, I never use them anymore. I never use turntables when I play out, I don't have the desk space at home to have them out all the time to practice on, so they don't get a lot of action.

I'm a college student, and I'll be graduating this year, which means I could end up anywhere after that. It would be highly impractical to have these two giant heavy things to lug around when moving, perhaps even having to pay out the butt for shipping them somewhere...

On the other hand...I'm so attached to them because I hunted far and wide to get them within my budget and its how I learned to DJ...and they're out of production so if I wanted to buy another pair when I'm settled again..fat chance.

What do you guys think...to keep or to sell?

I sold mine except for 1, I also have some parts from an older one in the event that something breaks. I pimped out my main one but powercoating it and adding blue LEDS (not the platter mod, maybe I'll do that later).

I'd say if you really want to ditch them keep one or you'll regret it. If I ever want to play a piece of vinyl I can.

I'd never get rid of mine. Thing is - if you're gonna compromise, just keep one.

But, if you're gonna keep one, might as well keep both.

You'll miss 'em as soon as they're gone.

Keep them. You will defiantly regret it down the road. I fell on hard times and had to sell mine. I believe there’s a certain bond a dj builds with their decks over the years. I've owned different decks since then it's just not the same. I miss mine dearly.

    Sorry for your loss.

(And I know what you mean about the bond. Even when decks get a bit grimy over the years - that's MY grime on there!)

Keep. In complete agreement with Viirus. It's equipment you've got history with.
No other turntables will ever feel like your turntables.

And can you imagine another man playing with your decks? It'd be worse than your girlfriend running off with him.

Keep them. I sold mine a few years back and for a year it haunted me. I bought other ones to replace them. I'll never sell them again.
