    +1 to beatworx. the platters are small and cramped.

    Armsteada's video's prove it can be done though.
    what do you have your rotation percentages at in the midi mapping?

    I can scratch and juggle with vinyl, but can't seem to get good replication from the vci. any pointers would secure your rulership and likely get DvlsAdvct to stop being rude and unwelcoming.

    I think the greatest advantage the vci-300 has over the 100 is it has 14-bit resolution on the jogs which allows far great precision.

    If you play with the jog wheels on the vci you will find a point where the movement you make is so small you dont get any audio respose from traktor, with high def midi this point will be at a far far smaller movement
    Though I might be talking out my ass here .....

    Bring on high res midi support in traktor and the vci-100!

    All this is true, but I've managed to scratch with the small jog wheels. Practice is the key and different technics help. Would I like to try the VCI-300? YES!!! I can't wait to get my hands on one.

    I believe one of the issues is that the VCI-100 reports velocity, not position (which I believe the 300 does). And even then, it can only report 64 speeds in one direction and 63 speeds in another direction.

    I've played with the VCI-300 and the larger platter, tension control for the platter, and the 14-bit MIDI make a huge difference in the scratching and cutting performance.

    @Sgb

    That makes more sense, relative position would have the advantage of not having to be integrated by traktor to solve for absolute position.
    Though I wouldnt imagine the quantization error would be that great.
    Either way 14 bit support would allow representation of 4096 velocities ... which is 64 times greater resolution ... excellent

    Cheers for that,

    Hey guys! I can't take the arguments over the vci-100 & 300, so I just bought a vci-300. I should have it Monday (I won it on Ebay), so as soon as I get it, I'm going to put it to the test. I can't wait. I'm excited to see if I can scratch better and do more tricks that I haven't been able to perfect on the vci-100. I'll keep you posted.
