    Default Latency issue?

    Hey TechTools!

    i'll just go straight on. I have recently started mixing, and it's really awesome. But there is something wrong with my setup... I have a slight issue with the preview sound and the master sound isn't really matching, the sound from the speakers come right after the sound from my headphones It's really annoying!

    My gear is;

    Windows XP SP2
    Hercules DJ console RMX
    And traktor PRO

    What might be wrong? Just ask if you need more info...

    i'll be glad for any kind of help!

    adjust the latency all the way down (with as much load on the system as you can - ie 4 decks all playing so on and so forth) then slowly bring it back up till it doesnt skip/lag

    cause then when you do it with only 2 decks, your latency will be well under where you need it to be (as you tested it running 4)

    I'm totally new with traktor, and with the console. How do i change the latency when traktor is running? i can do it via the hercules software, but only when traktor isn't running..

    Once you have 4 decks or whatever going/playing. go to settings in traktor - audio settings - and latency should be right there

    bring it all the way down. and then slowly bring it up until it doesnt cut out/stutter/ fuck up like its been doing.

    then switch back to your normal set up (im assuming 2 decks with the RMX) and give it a whirl. should work like a dream... smooth as can be

    idk man, try doing the same thing on the RMX but load up traktor the same way i was describing and see if that helps.

    idk if youve searched the topic or not, but someone else on here might have more exprience with the equipment youre using (im just going by basic knowledge of "how it should work")

    Thanks for your help bro, but the weak link was the speakers itself. The audio has to go from the RMX console, to the main unit, then the signal is sent 2 the subwoofer, and from the subwoofer to the speakers. So the issue isn't about software, but it's my soundsystem.

    Plugged in another set of speakers and it worked like a charm!

    Moose out.
