    It's pretty rare to see 24 bit lossless on what but it does occur. They are not transcodes. I don't know why anyone would <i>need</i> 24 bit lossless... lossless is already pretty unnecessary for anybody without obsessive audiophile tendencies.

    There isn't anything inherently illegal about torrents or the bit torrent protocol... and unlike most forums, this one doesn't seem to have any hard and fast rules.

    There are also many torrent sites (see www.torrentech.org) that is also a netlabel for many of their members, that spread their music completely through torrents.

    Just talking about a dead torrent site doesn't condone the use of illegal sites that are still running. This one just happened to be the best site that ever existed. It definately help me get impossible to get tracks when I was in college taking in a whoping 6 grand a year.

    In no way was this thread designed to sat stealing music is ok. just that people like itunes should offer high quality files for those that want them

    I agree that more mp3 dl sites should offer better quality. You pay a price comparible to a CD anyway, bearing in mind that all you get is data, why shouldn't the music you buy be available in something like flac or at least 320 as a standard?
