    Default Collecting dust

    Hey DJTT
Name is Matt, long time lurker.

Ive been djing for about 10 years now.
Over the last 3 or 4 years I have barley touch my decks.
My set up is as follows; 1200's, Pioneer DJM 3000, Sreato scratch live, EFX 500.
I dj for fun and as a hobby. only problem is; im bored. That set up it self is not much for for me anymore.

I have 2 pieces of gear collecting dust that i would like to use but i just dont know how. I have a Novation Launch Pad and a Novation SL MK 2. How can I incorporate them into my set up?

Also i feel as if Traktor has over taken serato, is it time to switch?
Any other gear i could scoop up that would bring some more life to my hobby

    Thanks for the help DJTT

use the launchpad as a midifigher

SL2 hooked to live - traktor routed through, and use effects in LIVE on the audio from traktor

(thats how i have my APC / MPK hooked up when im using those with my S4/x1)

you could prob still route SSL into LIVE or use the bridge with the launch pad to start clips/loops and the SL2 to do effects like the video from armyofme (Youtube Effectrix tutorial --im at work otherwise id link it)

thats what id try and do if i was running serato, basically the same thing i said above.

midi mapping in Serato is pretty limited. You could try out the bridge with the free 30 day trial of Ableton. If you had Traktor though you could do all kinds of stuff with a launchpad.

Yep what PJ said, if you want to take full advantage of midi to make mixing more fun and creative, Traktor's the way to go.

I prefer traktor's timecode system as well (in my limited experience), but that's just me. I know a lot of people love serato.

I really think you should get traktor. If your bored by serato, traktor is way more fun no doubt about it.

The question is, do you even care about using TT?

If you grabbed an S4 that would give you everything you need for plug and play traktor
