i want advice building a controller!

hey guys i have been thinking about this and i want to build a midi controller i just want to make something simple just a board with buttons like the monome controllers.....and this is my concerned what would i need to build it can any of you guys can help on where to get the stuff thanks in advance

You should talk to Midifidler he has built a few controllers already based on the monome code and is building some new controllers.

What kind of scale controller are you thinking about here?

Ie how many buttons, pots, rotaries etc.

just like a squere of 8 by 8 with or 5 by 5 of like 64 buttons or 25
