Traktor Scratch Duo + upgrade to pro
Need some advice on a purchase.
Tried the search but couldnt find an exact answer.
Ive been at this for about 6 months now practicing at home and a couple house parties. (playing: house,hip-hop, top 40 etc)
currently i have
mbp
traktor pro
hercules rmx
kontrol x1
I just picked up a technics 1200mk2 and need to get traktor scratch.
can the hercules act as my mixer for the short term? or will I need a mixer to run the dvs set-up?
I want to customize the decks to show key, position, time till cue point
but from what i can tell i cant do this in duo. Is that correct?
also i want the extra effects.
So i think i need Scratch pro.
here is my main question
scratch duo 2 with audio 6 is about 380 + pro upgrade 80
total $460
scratch pro 2 w/audio 10 is $660.00
should I save the $200.00 or is the audio 10 worth the extra $$?
I will most likely never have 4 decks spinning externally.
Thanks in advance

i have pretty close to the same setup, minus the 1200s plus scratch duo, planning on upgrading to pro soon.
pretty sure you can do what you asked, just have to stay in internal mixing mode. run the technics into the ni soundcard, not the rmx.
going in a little different order than you, saving up for the mixer first, then the TTs.

2 of my friends and I did this exact same thing. we bought scratch duo, then upgraded the software to scratch pro. The audio 4 dj is great. Same theory applies to the new version. We did it when scratch duo was on sale $169, then $79 for the pro upgrade for a $248 killer system!

thanks for the info. Im gonna buy scratch duo this weekend and then upgrade.
@gogomillard. ya i guess your right i will have to mix internal.
I would have bought a mixer first except i havent been able to make up my mind on anything yet. I knew i wanted technics and the opportunity came up and i jumped at it

traktor scratch pro w/ audio 4
I was curious did the upgrade to Pro workout well for you and all of your needs. Also do you have a video of your setup, as it relates to using your Hercules Rmx as the mixer.
I currently own 2 cdj's w/ a 2 channel mixer and I'm currently using TSDuo 1. I too have a Rmx which is collecting dust and wanted to know if you're able to record your live mixes. How are you recording using the Rmx?
Thanks
