    Default S4 Hardware service??

    Hey all,

    i'll jump right to it!!

After returning from a hectic 3 months playing in a few different countries, on the final leg (bulgaria to london) my S4 must of taken a little bump while being checked in.

    Firstly everything works!! (thank god)

But these are the issues ive yet to solve without digging a little deeper into the unit.

Jog wheels = both jogs whell had come off ( got them back on, re cab'd...) but they dont depress as good in certain places, in some places they dont depress at all. Took them off again gave it a good spray with some canned air, cleaned them up put them back on....same issue???

    Anyone?

Top FX knobs = Again all working fine, all responsive but they have lost they centre dip. (the slight dip you can feel once you know you've hit the middle)

    Suggestions?

...and finally, which im sure didnt occur from the bump. Up faders seem a bit sticky. Is there a safe way to access them to clean them?

Have 6 weeks of doing nothing to give it some TLC until im gone for 5 months over the summer

    Thanks in advance all

in terms of cleaning faders, I wouldn't be comfortable taking the S4 apart that far tbh so I'd stick to canned air and a mascara brush (ideal size for fader cleaning).

In terms of the other problems I can't really advise you, it might be a good idea to speak to NI directly.

and i too will be interested to see if there is a solution to your issues.

Do you have a ticket number? If it's been over a week or so you can PM the number to one of the mods on the NI site and they can escalate it for you.
