    Default Edit Sets/dividing into tracks

    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody knew of a good, fairly cheep (under $100) program for editing sets on a mac.

I want to take say an hr long mix and break it down into individual tracks. I had acoustica for my PC and it was exactly what im looking for. Basic, easy to figure out and worked well. I downloaded a demo of wavepad but it acts all glitchy on my mac and read that other people had the same problem.

If had the ability to fade in/fade out and some other stuff that would be great. I tried garage band but Im not sure if it has the ability to actually cut the them into different tracks and burned to a CD.

    Thanks,
    Dritch

+1 on Audacity or even Garage band that comes with your mac. Might be able to find a used copy of Logic Express for close to that as well, but it's WAY more than you need probably.

So i like audacity great recommendation!

Anyway someone could quickly explain to me how to make different tracks tho? do i have to cut each part of the mix, make a new track and paste it further down the time line? I feel like there should be an easier way of doing this.

Reaper looked pretty legit, but it was $150. Kinda resembled ableton at first glance actually.

Actually is $40 bucks but you can use it in demo for what you want to do.
