Default In ear monitors vs Traditional DJ headphones

Hey guys seriously considering purchasing some in ear monitors!

My first pick would have to be the westone UM2's. Right now I am using some Sennheiser hd 25's. Although I have heard that the isolation and sound quality on the in ear monitors is far superior, although my main influence on purchasing these in ear monitors is to protect my hearing.

Does anyone on these forums use in ear monitors?? If so please tell me what you think.

    Thanks in advance

I used them until mine broke and I didn't have money to replace them.

I honestly prefer it as long as the mixer is set up to allow it reasonably…which means split cue or preferably a cue/master blend control. If you're using Traktor in internal mode, you've got what you need. If not, it doesn't hurt to have a set of headphones lying around in case you wind up with a mixer from the dark ages.

I have the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 pros and I love them. Some people complaint about the fitting, but for me they fit perfectly (and you get different fittings with it to suite your ear canal). They stick out more a bit than the rest, but it doesn't bother me. They certainly give you the best bang for your buck (cheapest with triple drivers) and are reviewed as the best universal fit around.

That's really cool. The alternate link at the end of it seems like a great idea to me…I'm starting to notice small issues with my hearing, and I'll definitely be trying that…probably tonight.

Etymotic ER-6 (not 6i). They don't make them anymore. They cost like $70 off Amazon and sounded/isolated as good/well or better than my HD-25s. I really miss them.

I keep wanting to get another pair, but the current Etymotic offerings don't seem nearly as good, and everything else comparable seems a lot more expensive.

The Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 pros seem pretty good. I am tossing up between these and the westone's

With the retail price of the UM2 being higher than that of the Triple Fi's AND the Triple Fi's are triple drivers (no shit Sherlock), the choice should be easy...
