Conntrol - Thanks for the input. No ableton here I just use traktor pro with a Kontrol X1 and a BCD3000. I'm curious though why would you think I use Ableton

Its ok and Its just so good! I thought you may have took your time and made it perfect I use traktor too. I havent really practised that much with D&B, i had a go a while back and found it a lot harder than mixing house (that may be because i'm not used to it? I Have done a few Dubstep mixes that sounded allright Just from timing it right

But yeah your mix is brilliant! Im gonna go practise some D&B right now in fact! you have inspired me

No time taking or mix perfecting here sir, just good old fashioned hit the record button and see what happens... some little tips that I have learned since I started (about 8 months or so ago)

    1) with respect to drum and bass, you really have to pay attention to where you mix in your highs and your lows. The highs are going to be your cymbals (which may be different enough from the incoming track to warrant mixing in, but may be close enough where the crossfader will be enough) but the lows because of some sort of sound engineering mumbo jumbo that I don't understand enough to explain, will almost always need to be "swapped"

    2) again speaking of Drum and Bass one thing that I do (and did everytime in that mix) is make my drop of the incoming track happen when the drop of the outgoing track happens...it works pretty well every time for me

    3) just have fun, oddly enough most of the 128 styles (house, trance, electro etc) give me a bit of trouble, so just keep on plugging away and you'll be amazed at how quickly you progress.

I need to have a good practise I reckon! I would love to be able to mix D&B as well as you Sometimes Im just really in the mood for it and usually satisfy my craving listening to somebody elses mix. Would be epic doing it myself But yeah I think practise can solve anything really
