Default Cool Idea I just had.

    Hey everyone,

I was just doing some beatmatching on my cdjs. I have decided to practice it a couple times a week to make up not using it while I'm out gigging.

I think we should create some sort of trophy program like you see on PS3. There could be multi-level awards ranging from beginner to advanced.

Everyone could post a video of them performing the given task to get credit for that task. (IE: complete 4 slams in 5 minutes or beatmatch sucessfully for 25 minutes using 13 songs)

I think this would be a fun time.

    Maybe it already exists.

    Lets see.

Idea is good, trophy system is flawed. How would we do that? And if you want to do this whole beat match thing you have to keep in mind we aren't all "PS 3 players" as in your statement. Not everyone has an analogue or CDJ setup.

Well the beat matching thing is just an example.

You can beatmatch on controllers just as good as a pair of cdjs and lots of controllers have jog wheels and pitch controls that are just buttons.

Maybe a thread with a on-going set of tasks to perform.

The trophy could be a youtube channel filled with you performing all the challenges on the internet for people to watch you and for your popularity to grow. It would give all the people with the interest to start djing some motivation to do so.

I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't think anyone wants to watch youtube videos of other people learning to beatmatch.

These days everyone DJs differently and that's great, I don't think there's any need to set some sort of curriculum.

And if it were to go ahead, the awards should be pizza not trophies.

O/T: Damn you! Now I want pizza and it's 3AM and everywhere is closed . I'm going to try to sleep before people start posting delicious pictures of pizza on here and make me hungrier.

Then why does everyone complain about it so much when its brought up? haha

I think the videos would be more for the person then the watcher.

I guess I'm the only one in this boat.

    Thanks for playing!
