    Default Virtual Scratching in Live

I've been trying to get the effect, and I've found some success using an auto filter, triggering the sample with my Midifighter and setting up my crossfader to an autofilter frequency cutoff... Are there any other FX combos that get the sound? Video isn't me, but where I stole the idea...

    do you have reaktor?

check this out if you do.

its a custom midi playable sampler built specifically as a scratch instrument for live.

that first video is the old version but has a more in depth explanation to it.

it really does actually let you scratch, the new version has more features and better overall handling.

    you can get it here

basically its 16 slice keys with midi controlled rewind stabs or backspin commands.

it can take a minute to get used to, but its awesome and its free as an ensemble, you still need reaktor though, the free reaktor player wont load it.

I've got komplete, so I have Reaktor... I'll give it a shot. I was originally aiming for a more FM synth based scratch sound, but if I can get use to this it will be much much better. This is exactly what I was looking for (the only other example I could find was Moldover's beatlookup, which seems to be dead).

moldovers beatlookup is actually chris lists beatlookup that moldover moded, and I have my own custom mod of beatlookup that is even better, I combined the best parts of CLists beatlookup 7.4 with the best parts of moldovers master channel ensemble (BLU edit). I'll send you a link to it later when I can.

I'd love that. I'm new to mixing in Ableton so I'm trying to do some more unique things. Yea, I couldn't find anything on beatlookup so I never knew who to credit it to. If you have any other recommendations for FX or just ableton plugins for DJing let me know, I'm a total newbie to Ableton.

search the user library for the following,

microglitch - sequenced reverse, stutter/pitch and stretch

optimus prime 3.0 - live playable mangler - like the mouth

bitmupad_V13 - koass pad type emulation effect

R3order - sequenced slicer with repeat, reverse and power down

    these ones are awesome!!!
