    Default Flat USB Cables

    Hi There TechToolers :-)

Found those Cables http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10345 and i'd really like to buy them.
But I wonder, if there will be any interference because of the missing ferrite core...
Thanks for your help and suggestions!

They were made by a french design firm.

I dont trust them one bit.

I think lacie has a pretty good reputation as a company. However since these are made by someone else that doesn't really mean anything. Buy one and see how it works.

These remind me of the flat Starlight cables by Wireworld. I would guess though that the internal data and power wires are not separated in the Lacie cables.

Are they separated in OEM / standard USB cables? I probably think not?
    I think i'll give them a try...

In OEM cables the wires are not separated. I don't think they are in the Lacie either as they probably would have pointed that out somewhere. Possibly they are spaced apart from each other but that's not the same as isolating the power and data wires as the USB 2.0 pinning is VBUS/D-/D+/GND.

So whats your opinion? Do you think they are "crap" because of their internal wire allocation?
They look very beautiful and are affordable... i dont want to spend hundreds of $ on high-end USB cables... and the lacie cables are the only flat usb cables i can find.
I will use them for NI Audio 10 + Kontrol X1.
At the end, cables have to do their work well and the look is subsidiary, but im totally in love with those flat cables.... dont know what to do.
i hope anyone can give me a professional recommendation.
