    Default final setup order

so i finally saved up the money, and i need closure lol

i have chosen: DDM-4000 mixer, Audio Kontrol 1

    ive researched: EKS Otus, DN-SC2000

im leaning towards the dnsc2000 buuuuuut, im also looking at getting two turntables and control vinyl. so which would be best? i need 4 deck control, but i have an x1. so the turntables wouldnt bother that aspect.

i cant make up my mind

    What's your budget?

The TT/DVS route will be the most fun, but also more expensive. Whatever you choose, I highly recommend getting two decks minimum.

Out of interest, why do you "need" four decks? Two is plenty fun especially with CDJs/TTs. I use four decks with X1s as I use sync (similar to Richie Hawtin) and play Techno but would just have two decks if using TTs.

    budget is around...1600?

and i could go with two midifighter and two EKS XP5's with the DDM4000 mixer...
4 decks: A and B for my current mixing, C and D are for certain loops or breaks, soundbytes things like that.

4 deck Mixiing isn't a priority and if there's something worth giving it up if do it, but 2 Dnsc2000's let me control four decks so idk. That's what I'm leaning to.

a pair of SC2000 and a pair of X1 and you'll do everything you want, and have room to remap lots of thing. Timecode (CDs or Vinyl) is still fun, but you can add it later.

You could eBay a couple of Technics 1200's /1210's for that kind of money if your serious about the DVS route. I use these with TSP and then have a Launchpad mapped for the other two decks / sample banks. Although you could pretty much do the same with an X1. But you may want to remember that if you plan on playing out or moving your rig, Technics are heavy and (in my experience) getting less common in clubs. So in that respect, a pair of controllers win in the portability and ease of setup stakes!

And a good choice on the mixer. Got mine when they were brand new, nobody liked Behringer and at the time I had no concept of controllerism. Turned out to be a good little investment!

Ive got a DDM4000, very good mixer to start out on

    BUT

Ive had it only 5 months and ive already worn out the feel feedback on one of the effect knobs. Also my 1st channel left side line input is a bit dodgy...

if you're using c & d for loops/one shots etc.. why need 4 decks? set them as sample players and control with x1 or midifighter
