I kinda wanted to have stuff like in this video (I know you hate him) <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icl4qGvil1E

You could poke around and find a program like G-Force and that might work. It would take your sound input and turn it into something like the older itunes visualizer. I imagine theres better programs like this out there but this is just what i found with a quick google search.
    http://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force/

You can run it on a second monitor (which would be the TV) http://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force...tml#second_mon

    or something like this...http://www.beatharness.com/index.html maybe?

I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

One thing that I saw in a dubstep gig that later I used on my own gigs was Electricsheep! http://www.electricsheep.org/

This is just like a screen saver, but it's pretty fun and works pretty well with most electronic music...it works for PC and MAC
