As a die-hard electronic music fan, every time a new video from an artist I like comes out, I watch it immediately or put it on my "watch later" playlist on youtube.
While checking out the videos on Ultra's channel, I noticed a very obvious similarity in almost every electronic music video that doesn't feature the artist themselves as the star of the video...
This is of course that in every electronic music video revolving around someone besides the artist, the focus of the video ends up at a show by the artist of the song. I somehow didn't draw this connection until I watched the music video for "Bounce" by Calvin Harris a week ago. I've attached some examples of this just so you can see what I mean. You probably also have some examples that I skipped over, if so, feel free to post them.
First off, we have "Bounce." Guy's girlfriend leaves him, he goes and has fun with the boys, splits up with them and ends up where? A Calvin Harris Show of course!

Secondly, we have Nothing But Love by Axwell. It's basically the story of Jesus' last day, I really love this video. Well, It starts with Jesus waking up, helping people, shoeing away the haters and eating a lunch of sandwiches (bread) and grape juice (wine) with his friends (Apostles.) From here, we skip forward to the club where Judas (the bearded kind of curly haired guy) ends up betraying Jesus. Who's playing at the club? Axwell.

Thirdly, (is that a word?) we have Feel Good by Modestep. The basic plot is this girl has a box of goodies that she brings everywhere to start parties up. The final place she brings it, is to a Modestep show. Throughout the video, clips of modestep shows are being tossed in here and there.
(Sorry for the UKF Drops in the song, all other versions of this video have been taken down.)

Finally, we have the biggest case of self advertisement, The Swedish House Mafia. SHM's Miami 2 Ibiza, in which the video is shot from An Omniscient POV who we get a glimpse of near the end, who seemingly flies from Miami to Ibiza, meets his model ladyfriend, and they go clubbing... At the Masquerade Motel. (In case you don't know, the Masquerade Motel is the theme of pretty much all of SHM's gigs in the last 2 years, and they have no sign of stopping.) I probably seem somewhat cynical in this last description, but don't get me wrong, I love this song. The drop is brilliant and it really gets people moving, the video is just a bit ridiculous and Tinie's Crazy use of Abbreviations boggles my mind every time I listen to this song.

Again, if you have any similar videos that advertise the artists at some point in the video with a show, please post them. I'm not giving these artists any hate, in fact, I think it's brilliant to advertise yourself in your own videos, mostly showing that you can 1) in the case of "Bounce" overcome a breakup by going to a Calvin Harris show, 2) Meet Jesus at an Axwell show, 3) Get your mind blown by Modestep and their magical box of goodies at a Modestep show, and finally, 4) meet ridiculously attractive models, as well as Tinie Tempah by going to an SHM show. Yes all of these are between somewhat and extremely hyperbolic, but at least they bring a meaning...unlike a Ke$ha video...which just brings glitter, mediocre women and male models.
