How many of you guys actually spend time rating your songs on iTunes/Traktor or whatever you use?
And for those of you who do, do you find it actually useful?

I do and yes.
I rate my songs 1-5 stars based on the energy level of the songs. So if i want to keep things chill i can play songs in the 1-3 star range but once people are moving I can bump up to 4 stars or even drop some 5 star songs to really get people going
I use the comment 2 field to put in a 1-10 energy rating.
If you rate something in itunes does it transfer to traktor? (would try it but i'm not at home computer)

Basically yes, if it's the first time it's loaded in Traktor. After that though they don't update each other.
I use it to rate energy levels for my music too.. then create a smart playlist for each star rating.
This then allows me to use the smart playlist in traktor so i can move between energy levels and itunes will add tracks to each playlist as i rate them.
Macbook Pro 2011 :: Xone 22 :: Technics 1200 :: Denon DNS3700 :: 2x Midifighter ::Akia MPD24 :: Kaoss Pad 2 :: Audio 6 :: KRK Rockit 5 Darkstar :: Roland Sh-101 :: Traktor Scratch Duo :: Ableton live 8
I have smart playlists of genres ie Jackin House.
I then have a top crate smart playlist made of that genre with 4-5 star ratings.
When I rate that tune 4 or 5 stars it goes in the top crate.
