Spotify available in the US now

I paid for premium today. Mostly for my son and wife though so they can have all that at their fingertips.

It's OK for music discovery which is the only reason I'm using it. If I find something good I will purchase it as I prefer to have material so I could play it, remix it, place it on my iPod and so on and so on... But switching to a streaming only music service, for most DJs that would not really work at all. Even if we are talking about playing gigs with a streaming service, I wish networks were reliable but they are not and I don't expect that to change for the next 200 years or so. Maybe with disk caching as a fallback or something similar.

I've had the premium for over a year, Don't regret a second. Only use iTunes for podcasts and to put my recent beatport purchases on my iPod.
Since people can subscribe to your playlists, you can use this almost as a mixtape, to let your fans subscribe to your current "crate". Get a link for a playlist, and post it on FB or whatever. Brilliant.

Anyone can join spotify as far as I know without an invite unless that's just something they've started in the states. The company is growing at an enormous rate, I shoot their photography for them, they started out in Sweden and are now all over the world.

It's still in a public beta of sorts in the states so you have to have an invite.
