It is completely dependent on a lot of factors. Tell us what you spin, what software you use/want to use, etc. etc. etc.
The 300 is a good controller, but nothing (and I really mean it) compares to a vci 100 it is already a classic, you canīt go wrong with it.
Depends on what you spin, like others said.
They both have pro's and cons.
Some prefer a built in sound card and smooth faders like on the 300.
Some prefer the 100 as it is small and to the point and a work horse.
They both are great..also, VCI-100 is cheaper.
VCI-100 has 4 extra knobs for fx, but 300 has over all more buttons and
with a Korg Nano or similar, it would be more than a 100.
The 300 has really smooth pitch faders and faders..and large adj jog wheels.
VCI 100 weighs a little less and smaller and more mods for it too.
The 100 works very well with Traktor and many tsi's on the web..
The 300 is a newbie, specifically deisgned for Serato Itch.
I'm actually waiting out because I think Itch will be something really cool quite soon.
I like both of them, but I like toys.

I am a young kid just getting into this and will be at college next year and hope on DJing at frat houses.
Mostly your hip hop and top 40 along with dance.
I love the cue points arcade button style that you can throw on the 100
On the 300 I like the internal sound card, so all I need is my laptop and a set of powered speakers and the 300 and I'm set.
Software-Traktor Pro
Are the cue points on the 300 as solid as the 100 also I don't think I will be able to get the 100 se so it would either be the 100 or 300.
I also want to do a little more then just cross fading having that multiple cue point option.
Sounds to me as VCI-300 and Serato would fit you well.

If you want to use Traktor Pro you can do everything you're talking about combining the VCI-300 and your keyboard for MIDI mapping. I don't think bringing the extra sound card will be that much of an inconvenience and can add a bit of upgradeability, is all.
The VCI-100 is a powerful workhorse, and I haven't really heard any complaints about the VCI-300 either.
