    Thumbs up The Art of Opening, for Justin Martin. Deep/Funky House

    I was blessed to be able to open up for Justin Martin last night at Focus OC. If any of you have been to Focus, you know what an amazing atmosphere and club Josh Billings has put on for the past 8 Years, weekly!

    I put together a deep, funky, and techy mix to get things warmed up right, the art of the opening DJ. Tracklisting below.

    Very solid set. You obviously know what your doing getting the gig, but you asked for feedback so I'm going to give it. Seems like you were a little off in the beginning, but after a few songs it was all golden smooth. I don't know if it was nerves or you were still getting set up or whatever. I really don't think anybody in the club would've noticed, but me with headphones on at home is another story that really isn't indicative of real life experiences.

    Like a said solid set and it's going on my iPhone for inspiration.

    @Photojojo

    Thank you very much for the feedback, it is much appreciated and helpful to continue to improve. I was quite relaxed, had plenty of time to setup, but in the club, its hard to hear between monitors and dancefloor, so gradual mixing doesn't even sound like its happening, so i tend to be a hit heavy on the eq's.

    Again, thank you for the support and feedback, glad to hear I have inspired!!!
