Default Good store for HD25-1 II cable replacements, in US?

Hey all, anyone know of a good place online (US shipping) to get a replacement cable for the Sein HD 25-1 II headphones? Preferably copper and not the stock steel. The only one Seinnheiser sells is kind of pricey for a steel cable, and most of the 3rd party ones I've found are stupid expensive HD600 cables that are "audiophile quality" (cough).

    Thanks!

Dunno, but you could probably make yourself a custom cable for a pittance. Ive seen some pretty rad user-built coiled cables for hd25's on some internets before.

Otherwise, troll ebay for a while and get lucky maybe? HD25 parts are infamously expensive and it's just kind of part of being in the HD25 club.

Troll eBay? Not a very good idea. I think you mean lurk. And depending on where you live, I could make you one.

I'm after some new cables for my HD25's too. It's still under warranty, but I don't think I could go without them for 4 weeks, which is how long it says it will take when I phoned them up yesterday.

I've been searching the internets and I read that you could just use the cable for the HD-600's. Would that actually work?

@Audeo, how difficult would you say it would be to make DIY cables?

plz enlighten me. How would switching from steel to copper upgrade sound quality, or is it just better for durability?

i'm not tech expert, i'm just surprised, that almost perfect sound could be actually upgraded. (yes there is obviously level of possible improvement, i once tried highest grade audiophile headphones from Sennheiser... sweetness)

I'm sure that most of the Sennheiser dealers will be able to supply a cable for you. They are not cheap, btw!

Call the usual suspects - GC, ProAudioStar, AgiProDJ ... I don't know which are the good, only some of those who advertise

Hardest part is to find flexible but durable wire. I suggest looking at Mogami W2893.
It's shielded, has four leads and is very easy to work with. For at home.

The Canare L-4E5C is great for durability and also easy to work with. Also shielded.

Cardas (a audiophile company) sells the HD25 (also fits HD580, HD600) connectors

And then you can buy a 1/4" or 1/8" of choice for termination.

I also suggest you put some protective covering around the cable, I used Techflex Braided Multifilament.

    Good luck!
