Default New residency position need advice please :)

gentlemen & ladies i am in need of some assistance.. I have landed my first residency with this local club (huge opportunity) and would like some advice. So my spot will take place after a jazz band performs. I haven't really dabbled into acid jazz too much and was first wondering what reccomendations you all had for going from a live jazz act into a dj set. Any good transitional songs? I was already thinking about horns and pianos with some house music but was wanting some other input. I'm just stoked about this and want it to go down as great as possible. Thanks in advance fam.

Imo if you don't find some good transitions tunes simply play your music... you can play a big tune to surprise the crowd...also keep an eye on reactions

thanks for the quick replies guys.. I mostly play out house/electro music which this venue is geared towards but i figured a good transitional build up from live jazz to four on the floor would be better suited. But dont know any acid jazz style music off hand but i'm still researching on it. I have two weeks until it starts.

If it were me I'd go for some chilled out house after a jazz set, and push the tempo gradually as the night builds into more dubby stuff and into house / electro house

Hell, you might even get some of the Jazz Musicians to Jam while you are playing early on which would make for a really cool uninterrupted transition
