    Default what speakers?

I am looking at buying some new speakers and was wondering on what you all would recommend. Im just using them in my house for small parties and whatnot; probably wont leave my house.

Im looking for something that is pretty much an all around type speaker, i.e. bass and good sound. thanks!

what is your budget? I am confused as to when people post that they want a piece of gear that does x but don't tell us how much $ they are willing to spend to attain x.

I'd suggest KRK RP5 G2, Studio quality monitors, they're not made for giving parties, but they'll do just fine.

$100-$250 per speaker or pair? Powered or passive?

I would think you could get used or new stereo gear or TV audio systems with 2x100W or so output for small house parties, maybe even a sub-woofer included. Certainly not for mobile DJ:ing but for in-house parties they work just fine.
