    I already used CamStudio for the screencapture, then Vegas for the final step. Worked well.

    iMovie on a mac. Doesn't windows have something similar, movie maker maybe? The last Windows OS I had was XP so I'm a little dated.

    use screen capture software and a digital camera to capture the controller, then embed the controller into the screen capture movie. or point a web cam at the controller and a monitor window for it above traktor, ableton etc and just use the screen capture software, jing camtasia, i think youtube even does screen capture now. not 100% on the youtube thing but pretty sure i spotted it in the upload video dialogue.
