Lion Vs. Giraffe: who wins?

This has been an ongoing argument between my friends and I.

I vote for giraffe because of this:

One on one a giraffe would win. But if it was a pack of lions vs. a herd of giraffe, the lions would win; they would all gang up on one giraffe and the others would flee

Hard to collect the data, but I reckon the number of lion killings of giraffes outweighs the other way round by oh, thousands to one. On that basis, it's gotta be the lion.

I certainly wouldn't want to be the lion getting kicked in the face by an 8 foot leg though.
