Cmon guys any help? I am about to pick up this damn thing in 2 hours.
also what should I do with my torq connevtiv, 2x technics 1200 and a vestax mixer? Is it time to sell it?
sry dude, i own my VCI just like a month or so.. can't offer advice here.
But don't sell those technics, their time will almost never come up, i bet you will like DVS with them in future (unless you already tried that out and didn't like it).

Gotta give us more than 10 minutes to make a response, man
Feel the knobs and faders, make sure they work. Make sure it is hooked up to a machine and test the sensitivity. Make sure all the LEDs turn on and off, and yeah. *shrug* You always run risks, and unless you know what it is supposed to look like inside then there isn't much you can really do beyond the cosmetic stuff.
Oh, make sure the sensitivity knobs on the back work.
As for the other gear, well, I'd hold onto it to make sure this is the direction you want to go. You might also decide to integrate them all together. Who knows.
The digital thing is amazing and I love it, but sometimes it's nice to break out the old school.
You can post me your tables if you want, i wouldnt mind a pair of decks

are rarely helpful. Please put a bit more thought into your posts before you click "submit"
But as far as the VCI-100, it should be fairly clear if it works out of the box. MIDI controllers usually either work, or don't. They really aren't THAT complex under the hood.

When I bought my SE 1st edition from SS714SS, I drove like 1hr to meet up with him, and I took the whole vci apart in the car, being that 1 jog wheel was lose. But if you could bring a laptop or ask if you can use the sellers to test the vci. like Moniker said it either works or it doesnt. I would say spin the jogwheels around and keep your ear close the them to hear any grinding, I would say, that and jog wheels being loose are the biggest issues.
