I think I'll do CDJ for my laptop-free setup.

Still thinking about getting a tt or 2 to work with at home, production stuff (I compose a lot of music) and maybe for practice so if/when i get real tts I will be good enough so it will be worth it to buy some vinyl (or a dvs box)

Try craigslist. I am seeing people selling thier Technichs for 500$ for 2 decks, I bought some MKII for 500$ and practicly new, they both came with the original box, manuals and counterweights. As for needles the cheap and decent route would be the Numark CC-1s. They go for 30$ a piece on Amazon.

cheapest around here is 700/pair and that's not in "new" condition. people want 1000+ and that's like my total budget, and I have no PA or mixer (and no music yet!)

I guess CDs I can burn myself...
