Default Sample decks : what gear ?

    Hi,
So i've been djing on Traktor for about 2 months and i though it was time to use theses samples decks
As you can see in my signature, i'm triggering them from an ipad, but well it works but i'm not found of it, so what are your suggestions ?
I saw that AKAI made a LPD8, what do you think ? Are good quality pads needed for throwing samples in a dj mix ? what use can i get from the knobs ?
what do you use for triggering samples if you don't have a Kontrol S4 ?
    Thanks in advance

Lpd8, or maybe on the midi tab of ur x1. Then u can map knobs aswell for filter and gain, or the encoders.

    also interested.

I just bought a launchpad, it'll be here soon (hopefully) - there's some incredible things people have been doing with it (just youtube it - it's actually insane)

I think I'll be getting an lpd8 as well, just because it's a really cool <$80 device. And i've heard great things about it.

I have been building a controller of my own to control them though.

The way NI keep changing stuff I'm sticking with the iPad for now cos I can keep adding buttons and sliders.
Have you considered a Nanokontrol 2?
I'd probly use the knobs n sliders for volumes and key, and the buttons for trigger, loop and mute aaaand the transport section for the loop recorder. And add a modifier for loading and FX assignments.

Korg Nanokontrol 2 looks perfect for it to me.
