Default First gig outta the bedroom this weekend!!

I am equal parts excited and nervous as heck about this. It's a halloween party, costumes encouraged.

Most of the stuff I'm playing is house, electro, and mashups with pop tunes. I've got a decent little set started, so I guess we'll see what happens.

I'll be broadcasting it on LiveStream so I'll post a link before hand.

How many songs do you guys typically burn through per hour when you're DJing? I'm going for 2 hours, and I'm gonna let the tunes play as long as the people are feelin' it. I've got about 20 to start me off on my journey, and if I need to, I'll wing it from there.

Not planning on getting butt-house drunk, but I may have a few to ease my nerves a bit.

    Wish me luck!

By the way, I'm doing this set in a screen-accurate Ghostbusters costume, complete w/ proton pack.

    ~20 an hr..

make a playlist with a ton of tunes in it (way more than youll ever need). then just work off that.

i guarantee you that when youll done youll think of like 8 awesome songs that you SHOULD have played.

Very cool! Have any ghostbusters remixes?

In terms of track count anywhere from 20-25 an hour for house. I generally get about 50 tracks for two hours on my mixes but YMMV - it all depends on the style of your mixing.

    Anyhoo good luck!!

I do have one ghostbusters remix thrown in. I didn't want to be too obnoxious with it....the outfit is obnoxious enough (I can barely get through doorways).

I also do about 15-20 per hour, just depending on how those songs are flowing to the crowd..

    this....

always try to have far too much in your playlist, minimal is good but if you have too little and the crowd isnt feeling what youre playing you need to change it quick, losing a dancefloor is easy, getting it back is the hard thing. so just be prepared for everything.

as for the beer... defo... i always have a few pints to calm my nerves

good luck!! and let us know how it goes.
