    Default torn between laptops

I currently have a dell studio 16 xps. and ive had it for two and a half years
but the time has come to upgrade, as i only have a 2.6 ghz core 2 duo.

I am looking for a new laptop to use for music production/dj'ing. i am torn between a new dell xps 15 with a quadcore i7, a mbp 15, and a lenovo u460, with a quadcore.

Can anyone help me decide on what to get?

Get whatever you want. It won't make a rip of a difference.

I would go for the lenovo. I have had a few think pads, and dells, and the lenovos always win. They are the strongest built computers I've ever had. But, when it comes to computers, look at what you need and want, and don't worry what we all say.

i just want it to be able to handle the processing stress of multi track recording/productions. assume i will be running VST's and everything.

i have a ssd, and 8gb of ram that i can throw in the laptop

With those specs and an additional 8GB RAM all those machines will MORE than do the job. Spend time with each and go with YOUR preference.

If your going for a lenovo, and you're going to be travelling heaps, go for the thinkpad rather than the ideapad. I use the T420 and it's a little marvel. Built like a brick, and the drip tray is bloody useful if your having people spilling things on your laptop.

However, for stay at home use it really doesn't matter. Most will be around the same specs. OSX is a little easier to use, but sacrifices customizeability and expansion that windows has. In the end, it really comes down to preference.

sync is to beatmatch, as mac is to windows

both will get the job done, but one makes it easier D:
