    Default Controllers on TT wheels

I have seen Ean and many others do it. They put controllers directly on the turntables deck. The MFP has a hole underneath so its sits nicely or you can use a foam cushion etc.

My worry is that this will damage the balance of the deck.

    Am I being paranoid?

I usually freak out if anyone places anything other than a record on my turntables deck....

    What do you all think?

I think some turnatablist routines are tougher on the decks than some button mashing.

i usually put my vci100 on the decks if there is not enough space in the booth. but i always make sure to carry a big piece of foam with me so the tt / vci doesn´t get any damages.

    Personally I wouldnt do it.
Certainly not on my own decks. The only thing that goes on my decks is vinyl.

if there are no covers on the TT i would never place something other than an vinyl on it.

but thats no decision based on know how, its based on respect of other ppl. equipment.

    Indeed!

You seem to be as protective over your gear as I am.

No doubt there are peeps that abuse their shit...and technics are TANKS....but I have the Stanton STR8-100's.

I just would not want to get the wheel off balance etc.

That would drive me up the wall.

I already seem to have quite a bit if WOW and Flutter, but that could also be my settings in Traktor and how i have been syncing....

Does not stay Sync Locked...when I use Timecode.

Anyways...just wanted someone else's view on this.

Yes you are correct. I've seen platters damaged by this sort of activity which is why I cringe whenever I see it being promoted here on DJTT... just seems like a total disrespect to those of use that depend on TT's for our performances... Not only are the platters vulnerable but so are the tone arms... DJTT's please stop promoting this activity!!
